- Adjustable frequency PWM up to about 1.6 KHz
- 12-bit resolution for each output – for servos, that means about 4us resolution at a 60Hz update rate
- Configurable push-pull or an open-drain output
- The output enable pin to quickly disable all the outputs
- Terminal block for power input
- Reverse polarity protection on the terminal block input
- Green power-good LED
Description
- 16 Channels: The PCA9685 can control up to 16 devices independently, making it suitable for applications requiring precise control of multiple outputs.
- 12-bit Resolution: Each channel supports 12-bit PWM resolution, allowing for smooth gradations in brightness or position control (for servos).
- I2C Interface: The PCA9685 communicates with the microcontroller over the I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) interface. This enables easy integration with popular development boards like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
- Frequency Adjustability: The PWM frequency can be adjusted between 24 Hz and 1526 Hz, allowing flexibility based on the application requirements.
- Prescaler for External Clock: The PCA9685 allows an external clock input, and a prescaler can divide the external clock to generate the desired PWM frequency.
- Sleep Mode: The device can be put into sleep mode to conserve power when not in use.
