Overview
The Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32S3 is a high-performance, thumb-sized development board built around the Espressif ESP32-S3R8 chip. At just 21 x 17.5mm, it packs serious capability into a footprint small enough for wearables and space-constrained projects.
Processing Power
At its core is a dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor running up to 240MHz, paired with 8MB of PSRAM and 8MB of Flash. This gives the board plenty of headroom for demanding IoT, edge-AI, and wireless application development.
Connectivity
The board supports dual-mode 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 LE. A U.FL connector for an external antenna extends wireless range beyond 100 meters when needed.
I/O and Interfaces
Despite its small size, the XIAO ESP32-S3 offers 11 digital I/O pins (PWM-capable) and 9 analog I/O pins (ADC-capable), along with UART, I2C, SPI, and I2S interface support. It connects via USB-C for both programming and power.
Power Management
Built-in lithium battery charging management and an ultra-low-power deep sleep mode (as low as 14μA) make the board well suited for battery-powered, always-on, or wearable applications.
Software Compatibility
