Description
- Optical Isolation: The MOC3010 provides electrical isolation between the input and output circuits, ensuring that no direct electrical connection exists. This isolation is critical for safety and to prevent interference between circuits.
- Infrared Emitter (LED): The input side of the MOC3010 contains an infrared LED. When current is applied to this LED, it emits infrared light, which is used to transmit signals optically to the output side.
- Zero-Crossing Detector: The MOC3010 features a zero-crossing detector circuit on the output side. This allows it to trigger control signals at specific points in the AC waveform, typically at the zero voltage crossing point, which is useful for controlling AC loads like triacs or thyristors.
- AC Input Compatibility: The MOC3010 is designed to work with AC input signals. It is well-suited for applications requiring AC signal control, such as in lighting control, motor control, and power regulation.
- Compact and DIP Package: The MOC3010 typically comes in a Dual Inline Package (DIP) with through-hole pins, making it easy to mount on a circuit board.
